The Data Intensive Systems group  external linkat Utrecht University is looking for an enthusiastic PhD candidate with a Computer Science background to address research challenges in the field of Very Large Data Management and in particular, on Data Preparation and Curation, with a special interest in Graph Data. Qualifications

We are looking for as candidate with a strong collaborative spirit and who:

  • has a MSc degree in computer science (or equivalent);
  • has very good programming, analytical and mathematical skills. In order to prove your programming skills, a Github link can be included in the curriculum vitae provided;
  • is fluent in English. A qualification English at C1 level (comparable to level 3 of the Lecturer Assessment Grid) is required or you should be willing to obtain this level by training.

Offer

  • a full-time position (fully funded) for four years (1.0 FTE) or five years (0.8 FTE). In the latter case it will involve 0.2 FTE teaching;
  • a full-time gross salary starting at €2,395 in the first year and increasing to €3,061 in the fourth year (scale P Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities (cao));
  • benefits including 8% holiday bonus and 8.3% end-of-year bonus;
  • a pension scheme partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions  external linkbased on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities.

Facilities for sports and childcare are available on our main campus, which is located only 15 minutes away from the historical city centre of Utrecht.
