The groups of Arnaud Krebs (EMBL Heidelberg) and Eileen Furlong (EMBL Heidelberg) are looking for motivated post-doctoral candidates to conduct a project aiming at understanding molecular mechanisms regulating long range chromatin interactions between enhancers and promoters during development. The approach combines single molecule genomics, long molecule sequencing, genetics and computational analysis.
About the groups:
The research group of Arnaud Krebs at EMBL develops genomic strategies to understand dependencies between the multiple regulatory layers that regulate transcription. The lab of Eileen Furlong dissects fundamental principles of transcriptional regulation, and how it drives cell fate decisions during development, focusing on the organisational and functional properties of the genome.
About the project:
The project entails development of a new genomics approach and its application to a well characterised Drosophila development system. The post-doc candidate will profit from the complementary expertise of the two labs to conduct the project and obtain interdisciplinary training in cutting edge genomics.
A PhD or equivalent qualification in molecular biology and enthusiasm for genomics, large scale quantitative experimental biology and mechanisms of genome regulation. You are excited by biological discoveries, you are interested in interdisciplinary science, and you enjoy collaborative work.
