The lab of biomedical microfluidics (LBMM ; www.epfl.ch/labs/lbmm/) is looking for a postdoc with a background in biology or biomedical sciences. We have developed an in vitro diagnostics platform enabling to identify the most potent therapy options directly on tumor samples from human patients (www.besttherapyforme.com; Eduati et al., Nature Communications 2018). As the next step, we are now initiating clinical trials and the establishment of a startup company, making this technology available to the public. The position will be funded for 18 months in the context of an Innosuisse grant, with the general possibility of transitioning permanently into the startup afterwards.

The successful candidate will closely interact with other members of the LBMM, medical doctors and tech developers.Main duties and responsibilities include :

  • Screening of samples from human cancer patients
  • Development of novel assays and NGS work flows
  • Preparation of tissue slices or cubes
  • Data analysis

Your profile :

  • PhD in Biotechnology, Biology or biomedical fields
  • Very good publication record in international high impact journals
  • Experience in the field of cancer biology and/or HTS
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly motivated and keen to work in an interdisciplinary environment
