Position as PhD Research Fellow in Cell Biology available at the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
Position as PhD Research Fellow in Cell Biology available at the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Oslo.
No one can be appointed for more than one PhD Research Fellowship period at the University of Oslo. Starting date no later than 01.10.2022.
The fellowship will be for a period of 3 years, or for a period of 4 years, with 25 % compulsory work (e.g. teaching responsibilities at the department) contingent on the qualifications of the candidate and the teaching needs of the department.
A position as PhD Research fellow in the field of cell biology and cellular immunology is available in the groups of Prof. Cinzia Progida and Prof. Oddmund Bakke, head of the Eurobioimaging Advanced imaging node NorMIC Oslo.
The selected candidate will investigate how changes of the physical environment affect intracellular compartments and organelle dynamics in normal and immune cells, including cell lines with CRISPR/Cas9 knock-in fluorescent proteins. The project involves elucidating the role of extracellular stimuli such as mechanical stress on the endocytic pathway and organelle contact sites.
The research tasks will require methods within the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology, including state-of-the-art imaging techniques and live cell imaging. See Vestre et al. J Cell Sci 2021, Skjeldal et al. J Cell Sci 2021, Guadagno et al., J Cell Biol 2020.Foto: Colourbox
