ERC project: Effects of stakeholder consultations on policymaking
The Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen is hiring a Researcher (Forsker 1109) in the ERC project CONSULTATIONEFFECTS led by Professor Adriana Bunea. The position is for 2 years.
Research project and duties
The position is part of the ERC project led by Dr. Adriana Bunea and entitled ‘CONSULTATIONEFFECTS: Effects of stakeholder consultations on the policy inputs, processes and outcomes of executive policymaking.’ The project investigates the effects of stakeholder consultations on the policy inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes of executive policymaking in a comparative perspective.
The successful applicant is expected to conduct research directly linked to the project and will contribute towards achieving the research goals of the project by being directly involved into data collection, data analysis, research paper writing and the organisation of dissemination of research events. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with the PI and other members of the research team. The expected start date for the successful candidate is October 1st, 2022, or shortly thereafter.
Qualifications and personal qualities:
The successful candidate is expected to relocate to Bergen, participate in the scholarly activities of the Department, and conform to the regulations that apply to the position.
The applicants must:
- Hold a PhD in political science or must have submitted his/her doctoral thesis for assessment prior to the application deadline. It is a condition of employment that the PhD has been awarded before the actual start date of the position.
- Have research experience within one or more research areas such as lobbying and interest groups, regulatory governance, bureaucratic politics, EU politics and policymaking.
- Have good or advanced quantitative methods skills and solid experience with data collection, management and analysis.
- Have the ability to work independently and in close collaboration with others.
- Be proficient in both written and spoken English.
In assessing the candidates, a review of both the quality and the breadth of the candidate’s research will be conducted. Personal and relational qualities will be emphasized.

- Salary at pay grade 62 (code 1109) according to the state salary scale upon appointment. This constitutes a gross annual salary of NOK 573 900. For particularly highly qualified applicants, a higher salary may be considered. Further promotions are made according to length of service.
