Master’s thesis / Research assistant position
Molecular Nanoengineering group at the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering, Aalto University (Finland), is looking for a motivated student to join the group as a master’s thesis candidate and/or research assistant. The student will carry out experimental interdisciplinary research on DNA engineered hydrogels for chiral plasmonics in a multidisciplinary and international environment with excellent instrumentation and facilities.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate has a solid background in, for example, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, or physical chemistry. Previous experience with polymer characterization (Rheology and mechanical characterization) and microscopy (TEM and SEM) is an advantage but not required. The position does require good communication skills in written and spoken English.
Information about the research group
The Molecular Nanoengineering group (led by Associate Prof. Anton Kuzyk) at the Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering Department (SCI) operates at the interface between nanoscience, molecular self-assembly, DNA nanotechnology and plasmonics with focus on DNA-based artificial molecular systems with functionalities tailored for biosensing, nanophotonics and biomimetics.
