Course number and title: FAH279H5F Baroque Art and Architecture
An introduction to art and society in Europe, ca. 1600 to ca. 1800 CE. Tensions between the Catholic Church and Protestantism; the rise of powerful, competing courts; the growth of increasingly complex urban centres; and the entry of the “wider public” into the art market all create new roles for representation in Europe. Developments in painting, prints, sculpture, architecture, urban planning, and festivals are considered.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 8th – December 7th, 2022
Salary: $8,489.67 (Sessional Lecturer I)
$8,869.25 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term)
$9,085.58 (Sessional Lecturer II)
$9,301.90 (Sessional Lecturer III)
Minimum qualifications: A Ph.D is essential. Previous experience teaching this or a similar course is required. Experience as a sole responsibility course instructor is an asset.
Description of duties: (May include but are not limited to): All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course material, preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams, supervision of teaching assistants, marking of students’ work, submission of grades to university officials, and holding regular office hours.
