Course description:
A beginner to intermediate-level language course. The course provides a thorough review of grammatical structures designed to improve the students’ self-expressiveness in Italian. Selections from contemporary authors and passages dealing with present-day issues are also introduced as a basis for discussion in Italian.

Class schedule: Tuesday 11-13:00 and Thursday 12-13:00 (NOTE: All courses at UofT Mississauga are expected to be delivered in-person in Fall 2022. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the University).
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2022 -April 30, 2023
Salary:
Sessional Lecturer I – $16,979.34 inclusive of vacation pay (1.0 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $17,738.50 inclusive of vacation pay (1.0 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer II – $18,171.16 inclusive of vacation pay (1.0 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer III – $18,603.80 inclusive of vacation pay (1.0 FCE)
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a completed a Ph.D. in Italian Studies. Demonstrated experience with a beginner-intermediate level Italian course and expertise in Italian cultural studies. Native or near native Italian language fluency expected.
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated excellence in teaching. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
Description of duties:
Preparation and delivery of course content development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to the course.
