Course description:
An advanced-level language course. Emphasis is given to enhancing oral proficiency, including pronunciation, and acquiring and practicing nuances and subtleties of the language.

Class schedule: Monday 16-18:00 and Wednesday 16-17:00 (NOTE: All courses at UofT Mississauga are expected to be delivered in-person in Fall 2022. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the University).
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2022-December 31, 2022
Salary:
Effective September 1, 2020
Sessional Lecturer I – $16,979.33 (Y, full course) & $8,489.67 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE);
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $17,738.50 (Y, full course) & $8,869.25 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE);
Sessional Lecturer II – $18,171.15 (Y, full course) & $9,085.58 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE);
Sessional Lecturer III – $18,603.79 (Y, full course) & $9,301.90 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE).
All pay rates are inclusive of vacation pay.
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a completed a Ph.D. in Italian Studies. Experience teaching this course or university-level experience teaching an Italian language course at the advanced level. Native Italian language fluency expected.
Preferred qualifications: Proven record of strength in teaching/facilitating student language learning. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
Description of duties:
Preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
