Course number and title: Sessional Lecturer – LHA1119H – Creating a Learning Organization
Course description: Peter Senge’s concept of the Learning Organization has now been embedded in organizational thinking since 1990. Many organizations have struggled to create learning cultures with varying degrees of success and much has been discovered about the factors that contribute to or inhibit this success. In this course, we will look at the Learning Organization as Senge and others have conceived it through the lens of productive conversation. The course will employ a variety of learning strategies including student presentations, theory bursts and organizational simulation. As part of our process, we will examine our own ability to create a learning organization within the class and the impact that our conversations have on the quality of our own learning.

Pay for half course, vacation pay included:
Sessional Lecturer I: $8,489.67
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $8,869.25
Sessional Lecturer II: $9,085.58
Sessional Lecturer III: $9,301.90

Minimum qualifications:
Holds a PhD in adult education or a related field. Prior graduate teaching in the areas of the course topic and an established record of mastery in the topic area is required, with demonstrated community and workplace experience in the field of equity.
Preferred Qualifications:
An established and successful track record of online or hybrid format teaching is preferred.
Description of duties:
Prepare, organize, and lead this graduate half course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback in a timely manner.
