Course number and title: SDS377H1F – Lesbian Studies: Identity/Theory/Culture
Course description: This multidisciplinary course examines multiple lesbian identities that have varied in time and place. The course will pose such questions as: What does lesbian mean? Why have changes occurred in meaning? How has the identity of lesbian been culturally represented and politically expressed in various social and political contexts? It will also take up contemporary theoretical, cultural, and political understandings of lesbianism.

Salary:
$8,489.67 (Sessional Lecturer I)
$8,869.25 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term)
$9,085.58 (Sessional Lecturer II)
$9,301.90 (Sessional Lecturer III)

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field.
Preferred qualifications: Doctorate degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field. Experience teaching in a university environment.
Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures; delivering lectures; developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams; calculation and timely submission of grades; conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
