Course Description: From forced sterilization and sex-selective abortion, to selfies, prisons, and biosecurity, this course conceptualizes suspicion and technologies of surveillance in transnational perspectives. Informed by a range of interdisciplinary scholarship, namely critical transnational feminist and Black feminist texts, it interrogates how surveillance has long enacted racialized, gendered, and biopolitical injustices.

Salary for a Y course:
- Sessional Lecturer 1: $16,979.33 (Inclusive of 4% vacation pay)
- Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term – $17,738.50 (Inclusive of 6% vacation pay)
- Sessional Lecturer II – $18,171.15 (Inclusive of 6% vacation pay)
- Sessional Lecturer III – $18,603.79 (Inclusive of 6% vacation pay)
Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Qualifications: Demonstrated effectiveness as an instructor, academic qualifications in the subject, ability to introduce students to a diverse range of approaches, and suitability for the position.
Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades (including any grading or submission of grades not completed by the end of session: December 31, 2021 for the F session and April 30, 2022 for the S); holding regular office hours; supervising TAs (if any) assigned to the course.
