Job Code: 2022-Postdoc-CellBiology-1040Job Offer from July 07, 2022
The group of Marino Zerial is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with strong background in protein biochemistry to work in an interdisciplinary project that aims to identify novel receptors on endosomal compartments. The project will be carried out in cooperation with a newly-funded biotech company aiming to develop new approaches for intracellular delivery of macromolecule therapeutics. The candidate will have the opportunity to transition to this company within the next year.
The Zerial group investigates endocytosis – from its molecular mechanisms to implications in cell and tissue organization. Interests range from the assembly and functional characterization of the endosomal fusion machinery to the establishment of hepatocyte cell polarity and liver tissue structure and function. The group uses a unique interdisciplinary approach combining biochemical and biophysical methods with advanced light microscopy, cell biology and computer-aided three-dimensional tissue reconstruction. The team is highly interdisciplinary, international and collaborative and consists of more than 20 researchers from more than ten different countries. English is our working language.
Required qualifications
- a doctoral degree in life science or similar
- documented experience in protein expression, purification and characterization
- at least one first-author publication
- English proficiency, excellent communication and data presentations skills
Desired qualifications:
- background in structural biology or membrane biology would be advantageous
