In recent years, the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business has undergone significant development in the research field of Resource Recovery. The research and education environment today consists of seven professors, about 30 doctoral students, and about 30 senior teachers and researchers and post-docs. Education is conducted at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and we also have our unique doctoral education programme in Resource Recovery.
We have access to modern and well-equipped teaching and research laboratories. Research in Resource Recovery mainly deals with fields of energy, industrial biotechnology, polymer technology, resource management as well as civil engineering. We have a large network, both nationally and internationally, and well-developed collaborations with both industry and public actors. Within the Industrial Biotechnology research group, 20 doctoral students have defended their theses between 2014-2021.
Job description
As a Senior Lecturer, you will work with research on fungal and bacterial cultivation and with the application of membrane reactors in lab and pilot study contexts; in addition, you will contribute with supervision in the subject. Your duties will also include teaching courses in the subject area of resource recovery and/or mechanical engineering. It may also include administration related to educational programmes/courses.
Placement: The position will be with the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology with the immediate manager being Assistant Head of Department Ilona Sárvári Horváth.
Qualifications
The position of Senior Lecturer requires a doctorate in Resource Recovery – Biotechnology, or equivalent with content relevant to the research area described above. You will also need to have relevant work experience in fungal cultivation and anaerobic digestion in membrane reactors as well as experience in research addressing social issues related to waste management. You should be able to communicate well in both written and spoken English.
We are looking for someone with good collaboration and initiative-taking qualities, an ability to work independently and in a structured way, as well as the ability to prioritise among work tasks.
Merits for employment are:

- Documented knowledge of Resource Recovery at the academic level
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed training in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies or have equivalent knowledge.
