The Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology (MPIIB) in Berlin-Mitte is an institution of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science and is one of the leading research institutes in the field of immunology and infectious diseases.
For the research group “Genetics of host-microbe interactions” we are looking for a Student Assistant (m/f/d) – Life Sciences, in part time.
Your tasks
- Maintenance and preparation of Drosophila stocks for experiments
- Preparation of Drosophila tissue samples for microscopy, RNA and protein extraction
- Carrying out molecular biological analyses (qPCR), biochemical analyses (photometric determinations, Western blot), microscopy
Your qualifications
- Basic knowledge of general biochemistry/molecular biology/microbiology techniques
- Enrolled student in the field of life sciences with above average study results
- Good written and spoken English
- Experience with Drosophila tissue dissections, staining and microscopy is a plus
