Want to work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding new business unit at the University of Nottingham?
We are seeking a Supply chain planner to join us in Nottingham Drives Specialist Services (NDSS), a Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre.
Housed in the purpose-built Power Electronics, Machines and Controls Centre, we are a rapidly expanding business unit within the Faculty of Engineering offering use of the manufacturing and development capabilities within the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD) sector. The services we offer are unique and world leading, attracting industrial customers from across the world spanning multiple industries.
What will you be doing?
No two days will be the same here at NDSS as we expand our customer base and projects. As our Supplier planner you will provide a range of planning and support activities across multiple electrification industries.
A large portion of the role will be customer/supplier facing and so attention to detail and an enthusiastic approach is crucial. You will be the key to ensuring our customers receive the highest standards of service by ensuring the correct supply chain is in place for our projects and services. Coordinating all internal and external manufacturing supply demand. Additionally, you will be coordinating attendance at national and international trade shows and conferences as our supply chain planner.
Creation of daily sequenced and weekly production schedules, balancing supply and demand; optimising operational efficiencies e.g., change overs, material mix; inventory levels and customer delivery performance. You will also be responsible for processing of customer payments and invoicing and generating basic financial reports.
What qualities are we looking for?
We are looking for a confident supply chain planner with good understanding of electrification in automotive or aerospace industries. While experience in a Higher Education or Engineering setting would be advantageous, it is not crucial, and we welcome applications from any sector background. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, great communication skills and the ability to work and interact with a wide range of suppliers.
Above all we are looking for someone with drive and self-motivation, the desire and commitment to succeed, deliver excellence and make positive change. Capable to work well with others across diverse backgrounds to share information, develop skills, and deliver results.
This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours). Arrangements for job share may be considered.
