We are delighted to be seeking to recruit several new colleagues to join the flourishing Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at the University of Nottingham. These new colleagues will join a thoroughly interdisciplinary community of scholars with global perspectives and approaches and contribute to a vibrant and collegial research-led learning environment. Our courses position our world-leading research at the centre of the learning experience and prepare our students to be active and adaptive participants in the increasingly complex and technologized cultural, creative and media environments of the future.
One of the appointments we are seeking is an Assistant Professor to make a significant impact within the research and teaching area of Film and Television Studies.

The successful candidate will lead and deliver individual and collaborative teaching and research in film and screen industries, generate income by developing and winning support for innovative research proposals and funding bids, and build impactful partnerships and engagement with external organisations and publics. Teaching and research expertise and/or experience in at least one of the following areas is required:
- Screen industries
- Emergent immersive experience industry
- Sustainability
- Diversity
- The Global South
- Decolonizing curricula and pedagogic practices
- Innovations wrought through digital transformation
A range of administrative duties to support the operation of the School will also be undertaken including acting as a personal tutor.
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area and previous experience of teaching at HE level. Applicants should ideally have a track record of high-quality published research.
This is a full-time (36.25 hour), permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.
