Are you looking to take your first step on a career in Business Administration and Facilities Management?
The School of Health Sciences is recruiting a Business Administration Apprentice to support our Front of House and Facilities Team. The team provides a wide range of administrative support to colleagues, students and visitors across the school, including managing our office space and providing a welcoming and effective reception desk service. You will learn to handle queries from students, staff and external partners and will play an important role in ensuring we provide an effective, professional environment in which to study and work.
As well as completing a level 3 Business Administration qualification, you will be trained and supported by the existing members of the team. You will learn a range of business process as well as gaining more detailed knowledge about facilities management. Specific duties will include:
- Responding to staff and student enquiries at our Welcome Desk
- Handling and responding to emails and requests for support
- Assisting with the management of our office and shared spaces and facilities
- Working with our Health and Safety leads to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment
You will be keen, have a positive attitude, good communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach and be able to thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment. In return we will support your development and put in place a personal training programme to help you progress in your career.
We are seeking to appoint an individual who has a strong commitment to learn and develop and we will appoint not just based on past achievements, but also on your potential. If you are looking for the first step in your career, this is a great opportunity, and we look forward to hearing from you.
This role is available on a fixed-term basis for a period of 2 years. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week), of which 20% will be dedicated to off-the-job training and development. We will support your development and, upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you could progress into permanent employment in a range of areas at a higher level.
