Due to the secondment of the existing role holder, we are looking for a Head of HR Employment Shared Services to lead the Employment Shared Services team during this period. 

Reporting to the Associate Director of HR Digital and Shared Services, you will lead a team of 30 staff delivering a range of services supporting the operations of the University, including the recruitment process, issuing contracts of employment, immigration support, policy enquiries, new starter administration, maintaining employee records and variation to contracts.

You will work in partnership with the managers of the Resourcing, Employment Services and Central Support Services teams to ensure that HR Employment Shared Services respond to the changing needs of the university and deliver effective systems, policies and processes for customers. You will monitor performance against KPI’s and SLA’s, and lead on the identification of opportunities to improve services. You will also play a key role in the delivery of our inclusive resourcing agenda.

To be successful in this role, you will have ability to manage a HR operational team delivering a range of services and will have successfully introduced process improvements. You will demonstrate excellent people management skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders as well as building effective working relationships across a broad customer base. You will have a strong focus on customer service as well as strong analytical skills and a proven track record in using data to support service delivery and improvement.

This opportunity is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis (36.25 hours per week) until the end of March 2024.  Flexible working arrangements may be considered, as may part-time applications (minimum of 29 hours per week).
