Salary: £43,155 to £54,421 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This role provides the exciting opportunity to join the Research and KE Development team, which supports our academics to deliver world changing research and knowledge exchange with impact, by maximising the funding they have to do this.  You will join an enthusiastic and dedicated team who work to build up a strategic pipeline of bids with key stakeholders in Faculties and Schools, and provide specialist knowledge, expertise and intelligence on funders.  Our research development managers cover specialist areas of research development such as UKRI; Charities; International; EU; or place based funding, and this role focuses on charitable funding.  The role holder will focus on charitable funding, providing stakeholder management with key funders to understand their needs and represent the university. They will work to develop a maintain a pipeline of activity and funding opportunities and with the partner and ensure these are effectively communicated across the institution and ensure the development of high-quality bids to major funding opportunities. 

The University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) provides comprehensive support throughout the research and innovation lifecycle, from first ideas through to commercialisation and industry partnerships. The teams provide invaluable expert advice, RKE management infrastructure and support to delivery of the University’s research and knowledge exchange strategies. A restructure of R&I, supported with significant investment by the university, has created this role and a number of new opportunities for you to join us in providing an expert framework to deliver increased research performance across the University.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
