The School of Medicine is looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic, and reliable Student Support Manager to join our expanding undergraduate team in the Education Centre, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. This is a new role providing professional management support to our Director of Wellbeing and leading on the implementation of administrative systems and processes for undergraduate student support.

The school has in region of 2500 undergraduate students with 2200 of these on medical courses across 3 sites – Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln. 

You will provide leadership and management to ensure successful delivery of the School’s Teaching & Learning Strategy in addition to leading an effective and customer-focused support service, identifying gaps in policy and process. Where specialist service interventions have been identified, you will ensure that the necessary referrals are made efficiently and professionally to the Director of Wellbeing, the Wellbeing Team and/or external organisations where applicable. 

You will contribute to the operation, planning and development of processes to continually improve the service provided to both students and staff. The role holder will work with the Senior Operations Manager and the UG Team Managers to identify opportunities to improve the student support, develop initiatives and manage projects to completion.

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader who has the ability to work independently and has the capability to develop successful processes to initiative positive change. You will be friendly, proactive and self-motivated and not fazed by frequently changing priorities and demands.

You will be educated to degree level or have a professional qualification, or equivalent, OR proven track record of extensive relevant work experience, demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge in the field.

You’ll manage a variety of relationships with a range of stakeholders, regularly handling confidential information. You will liaise with central support services, academic staff, students’ union and the wider UG Programmes Team leading on key student support activities. We will provide full training on all aspects of the role for the successful candidates.

This post is based in the Education Centre, in the Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham, however you will be asked to travel to other hospital sites as part of the role.

The post will be offered as a permanent contract, hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may also be considered.
