Applications are invited to the above role to provide timely and high-quality technical support to Teaching in the School of Life Sciences. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining the function of the teaching laboratory facilities by arranging the availability of laboratories and equipment while preparing large quantities of reagents, buffers, media and samples alongside monitoring stock levels of basic equipment and supplies. The role holder must also have an understanding of good laboratory practice and skills in manual dexterity.

The successful candidate will work in a team, closely with academic and technical staff to support the provision of practical classes for undergraduate students.

We are seeking candidates that adopt a methodical approach to working in order to achieve work deadlines, have good communication skills and an understanding of health and safety.

Applicants must have the ability to lift and move objects (no more than 25kg) as this role will involve storing and moving consumables and equipment regularly.

Previous experience working in a technical or scientific role is required.

The post is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
