The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University is Sweden´s largest and most versatile department of its kind with approximately 280 employees. Our activities are interdisciplinary and combine natural science and technology with social science. We have research programs in air, water and landscape science; geophysics; natural resources and sustainable development; petrology, mineralogy and tectonics; paleobiology, and wind energy. Research at Natural Resources and Sustainable Development (NRHU) includes (amongst other topics) work on mineral and metal resources for society and energy transition, geohazards and resilient communities, climate change, and active biodiversity. The Resources, hazards and Volcanoes Group at NRHU is seeking a research assistant to support this effort. For more information: NRHU.

Duties
The work includes assisting the professor responsible for NRHU with tasks such as:
- Setting up calendar and schedules
- Create data bases for NRHU
- Support drafting of strategy documents and statements
- Make plots on NRHU statistics
- Help with managing budget files
- Help organize events and travel.
Requirements
The applicant must have completed a BSc degree and have good knowledge of word processing and Excel. The work requires a good level of organizational ability, good communication skills, and good time management skills. Good English and Swedish language skills are necessary.
Additional qualifications
Experience in the administrative program Primula.
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 12 months. Scope of employment 50 %. Starting date 1 September 2023 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
