Research assistant
The Department of Women’s and Children’s Health conducts research, postgraduate training and teaching. The operation is integrated with the women’s clinic and the children’s hospital at the Academic Hospital. More information about the department is available at http://kbh.uu.se/.
We are looking for a research assistant who works 50% in a research project in global environmental health.

Duties
- To assist research leader with statistical analyses
- To make high quality tables and graphs for scientific publication
- To conduct scientific literature searches and compilations
- To assist in the writing of scientific reports, policy documents and popular science texts
- To assist course leader in planning and implementing courses in the master’s program in global health and freestanding courses.
- To receive external lecturers and be helpful at seminars and lectures
Requirements
University education in a relevant field, complimented by courses in epidemiology, statistics and environmental health. Documented experience of international work, as student or through work experience. Relevant research experience of working with planning and conducting scientific writing, with a specific focus in low- and middle-income countries. Documented interest in and good prior knowledge of global environmental health and nutrition issues. Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, SPSS and reference action system. Big emphasis is placed on personal suitability as structured, easy to make contacts, very good communication skills, good language skills in spoken and written English, and good cooperation skills.
Additional qualifications
Essential experience in statistical software, including SPSS and Stata
Essential knowledge and experience in environmental health, specifically toxic metal exposure
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 4 months. Scope of employment 50%. Starting date 1 September or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
