Your Job:
Our team is working on integrated circuits (ICs) which combine analog and digital components from modern CMOS technologies. Our research, associated within the NEUROTEC II research project, focuses on the development of ICs for novel computing devices using Memristive elements and get a significant advance into the Beyond-Moore computing regime. For that, we research on the co-integration of Memristors onto commercial CMOS processes, creating a Memristive computing system with tightly integrated Memristor control and readout, combined with an integrated RISC-V processor. The focus of this master theses will be to develop a control algorithm for automatic read and write operation for Memristors as well as an implemetation into the integrated processor. Specific tasks are:
- Design a local control for the configuration and initialize of a Memristor array
- Develop an automatic incremental algorithm for Memristor control after readout process
- Verify the implementation with model-based simulations and laboratory measurements
- Accompany the integrated circuit development process towards the demonstrator chips and ensure the reliability of the design in a modern 28 nm CMOS technology
- Documentation and presentations
Your Profile:
- Current Master studies for Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar fields
- First experience with integrated CMOS circuit design and the Cadence tool flow
- Basic knowledge in digital circuit description (VHDL or Verilog) and programming (C/C++, Python)
- Good English capabilities and preferably good knowledge of German
Please apply for the position even if you do not have every required skill and knowledge but are curious to learn more.
