Your Job:
Results of energy system modeling are the scientific information basis for shaping transformation processes toward a sustainable future. Depending on the specific calculation method, up to 30 % of global greenhouse gas emissions can be attributed to the industrial sector. This clearly shows the relevance of mapping this sector in an energy system model and optimizing its transformation. With your help, we want to include the global industry sector in our models in detail. Your tasks include:
- Compile and prepare meaningful literature on current and developing technologies in the global industry sector
- Development of a concept for the evaluation and classification of the compiled technologies
- Determination of resulting techno-economic parameters for energy system modeling based on the previously created concept
- Inclusion (and testing) of the developed parameters in the energy system model
Your Profile:
- You are pursuing a master`s degree in engineering, such as mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or another course of study that fits the position
- You already have an overview of the technologies needed to integrate renewable energy into the existing energy system, as well as the challenges this poses for the future energy system
- You already have some knowledge and experience in programming (in best case in Python)
- You have already proven your special aptitude, your interest, and your personal commitment for scientifically demanding tasks in your field of interest
