The DZNE is an interdisciplinary research center, part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, and operates central IT services at its headquarters in Bonn, which provides the infrastructure and services for the entire research center distributed across ten locations in Germany, responding to the needs of scientists and administration.
As our IT Media Technician, you will join the IT Support team and provide qualified technical support for all DZNE internal users, in the area of media technology. In your role, you will be in charge of the operations and maintenance of the bleeding-edge audio/video/streaming/recording technology in the lecture hall in Bonn, ensuring that internal and external events run smoothly. You will be responsible also for the video conference technology in the meeting rooms, and you will provide expert advice and evaluation of products and solutions for the procurement of new media equipment when necessary for all DZNE locations.
Your tasks
- Ensuring and guaranteeing state-of-the-art audio/video/streaming/recording technology in the lecture hall in DZNE Bonn
- Responsibility for video conference technology in the meeting rooms
- Planning, consultation, and technical support for internal and external events in the lecture hall
- Independent and proactive maintenance of media and conference technology at the DZNE Bonn site
- Independent conception and development of equipment for seminar, meeting, and lecture rooms at all DZNE locations
- Continuous enhancement of media technology, for all events and meetings, considering different end devices and operating systems
- Installation, commissioning and testing of new media technology
- Coordination and control of maintenance and repair work by external contractors
- Coordination of the necessary maintenance and service contracts

Your profile
- You have extensive practical experience in the area of media and conference technology
- You are very familiar with various video conferencing codecs
- Strong experience managing video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Teams, Webex
- Experience in handling Crestron and Dante networks for audio/video control
- Expertise in using Blackmagic Design for video recording and processing
- Experience in operating Yamaha CL-Series mixing consoles for audio/sound
- Experience in image and video processing using Analog Way Aquilion
- Basic knowledge of networking
- Strong organizational skills and talent
- Fundamental image editing skills using Adobe tools
- Familiarity with Keynote and Powerpoint
- You enjoy dealing with customers and have excellent communication and service skills
- You have a very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
