This post is based within the busy and vibrant Engineering Research and Knowledge Exchange (ERKE) team. EKRE’s role is to support and enable the research and knowledge exchange activities across the Faculty of Engineering, working with professional services staff, researchers and academics at all levels. The purpose to the role is to facilitate a range of activities through excellent administration and organisation. 

This role will be focused towards the Strategy and Research Development teams within ERKE. The role holder will provide administrative support for data gathering and reporting for internal and external audiences. They will also support wider research activities including organising relevant meetings and events, managing key processes and enabling relevant marketing activities. This will require the role holder to liaise with colleagues across the Faculty/University as appropriate. 

Broader duties will involve carrying out a range of research related administration activities, including taking minutes, dealing with emails, and general office-based tasks. 

Candidates should have significant previous experience in an administrative role. They should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. Experience of working within a project/research-based environment would be an advantage.

Excellent IT skills are essential (MS Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook), experience of other web based software would also be an advantage. 

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
