The Institute of Mathematics at the University of Zurich represents mathematics in research and teaching at a high international level and is involved in projects with scientists at leading with scientists at leading universities in Switzerland and abroad.

Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will join Prof. Alexander Gorodnik’s research group, whose main research is on Dynamical Systems, Number Theory and related fields, and will be supported by Prof. Gorodnik’s SNSF grant “Quantitative dynamics on homogeneous spaces and arithmetic applications”.

The successful applicant is also expected to contribute to the teaching and research activities at the Institute of Mathematics.

The position is initially for the period of one year and can be extended for two more years.

Your profile

The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a specialization in either Dynamical Systems, Number Theory or other related fields.
