Job description

The Supramolecular Polymer Chemistry group at the Eindhoven University of Technology is developing polymers for photonic applications in collaboration with the Electro-Optical Communication group in the department of Electrical Engineering. In a new project, you will develop photoswitchable molecules and integrate them as cladding for photonic integrated circuits (PICs). PICs offer unique opportunities to advance technology in areas such as computing, sensing and health care diagnostics but these circuits are not programmable and are still fully based on application specific chip design concepts. In order to enable programmable PIC technology, you will develop novel cladding materials which can change their refractive index in a non-volatile way.
