YOUR TEAM
You would be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where experts in engineering, robotics and medicine collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The Rehab Technology Research Line is coordinated by Lorenzo De Michieli, who has extensive experience in the development of innovative high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairment.
We are seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Junior Software Developer with excellent skills in the design and development of highly maintainable code on custom embedded systems.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Design, write, maintain and test firmware and software related to robotics assemblies and systems.
- Debug and test communication layers between devices and control systems.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanics, electronic and control) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A Degree in Computer Science or closely related area.
- Experience in development, testing and debugging of C/C++ code and good knowledge of common coding practice
- Knowledge of common tools and IDE such as Eclipse, VScode, Git, Makefile.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, CANbus, Bluetooth/BLE).
- Proactive attitude and results-oriented mindset.
- A good knowledge of English or ability to attain.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate in an international research team.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of GUI development both desktop and mobile (Qt, Android).
- Experience in embedded development and cross compiling.
- Hands on knowledge of Texas Instruments products and tools (TM4C family).
- Concepts of robotics control development.
- Strong problem-solving attitude
- High motivation to learn

- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
