Your Role
Successful candidates will join the young, vibrant, and interdisciplinary FINATRAX Research Group, which builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The group conducts research on the application and the impact of digital technologies like DLT/Blockchain, Digital Identities, Machine Learning/AI, and IoT/5G on organisations from both the private and public sectors. The group consists of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds (e.g., policy, business, technology), united in pursuit of sustainable technologies that positively impact society.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to data sharing in the conformity testing of medical devices within Europe. They will carry out research in the context of the Medical Device Obligations Taskforce (MDOT) research project. MDOT is a research project funded by the EU Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020) that aims to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the medical device industry to meet the requirements of the medical device regulation. In particular, we design and develop a platform that enables SMEs to collaborate on conformity tests on their medical device products, e.g., by exchanging test data about the conformity of commonly used materials.
Your Profile
The candidate should possess a MSc degree or equivalent in Information Systems, (Technology) Management, Economics, or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience:
The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and/or experience in one or several of the following areas:
- Designing processes and economics for data exchange on blockchain-based data marketplaces
- Understanding medical device conformity assessment process in terms of pain points and opportunities for data exchange
- Decentralized architectures for Machine Learning/AI (eg. Federated Learning)
Language Skills:Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of either French, German or Luxembourgish will be appreciated but are not a requirement to apply.
