A 100 % position as PhD Research Fellow in Political Science is available at the Department of Political Science and Management, Faculty of Social Science, University of Agder (UiA) for a period of three years, possibly four years with 25% required work duties. The position is located at Campus Kristiansand.The starting date is negotiable with the Faculty.
We have a vacant PhD Research Fellow position in Political Science, in the field of Public Policy and Administration. The position is funded by the University and the research fellow will be affiliated with the research group Governance and leadership in the public sector (GOLEP). The research fellow’s project must coincide with GOLEPS’ research area, i.e studies of public organisations and public policy, preferably with an organizational theoretical perspective.

The aplicants must must qualify for admission to the faculty’s PhD program at the Faculty of Social Sciences, within the specialisation political science/ public policy and administration, and hold a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, with an average grade level of B or better. Applicants who are in the closing stages of their master’s degree can also apply.

Applicants must attach a project proposal within the framework of the GOLEP research area, as mentioned above. The project proposal must be maximum 10 pages, including a reference list. The project proposal must contain a preliminary presentation of the research problem, theoretical concepts, methodological approaches and the planned progression of the doctoral project. The quality of the project proposal will be given considerable weight in the assessment of the application.
Relevant candidates may be invited to submit a revised sketch after initial assessment.
Good command of English, both written and oral, is required.

The position is remunerated according to the State Salary Scale, salary plan 17.515, code 1017 PhD Research Fellow, NOK 491 200 gross salary per year. A compulsory pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from the pay according to current statutory provisions.
