The Payments, Cards, Travel and Expenses team are looking for a proactive, organised and energetic individual to join the team as Payments, Cards, Travel and Expenses Team Leader. The individual will be required to manage the day-to-day functionality of the Payments, Cards, Travel and Expenses team, responsible for processing supplier invoices and making payments to suppliers, whilst supporting the University’s cards, travel and expenses programme. The ideal candidate will have a positive approach in delegating work to team members, execute the weekly BACs payments and assist the Payments, Cards Travel and Expenses Manager in reviewing, editing and updating University policy and procedures, whilst liaising with internal and external customers to resolve queries and identify and improve working practises. The Payments, Cards, Travel and Expenses function encompasses processing high volumes of invoices, the delivery of excellent customer service, reconciliations, BACs submission, bank line payments, project support development, non-staff expenses, international payments as well as staff support & development.  The role will also be supporting UoN staff with travel, expenses and the cards programme. Highlighting risk and potential fraud.

The role will support the manager to ensure overall services are delivered effectively & enable the University to achieve its value for money objectives & the team to achieve its KPI’s & SLA. 

This varied role requires excellent communication, as well as organisational skills. The ideal candidate should have a flexible approach to work with the ability to react well to changing priorities. You must be numerate and able to work on your initiative or as part of a team, as well as being reliable and willing to learn new skills and procedures as required by changing university procedures and legislation. This is a permanent, part-time post (18 hours per week).
