Salary: £33,348 to £44,414 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for an exciting new opportunity that has arisen within the Faculty of Engineering to lead and deliver practical Virtual Reality (VR) teaching. The role will provide hands-on specialist training and demonstration to staff and students on equipment essential for teaching VR course content. 

We have an experienced, collaborative team of over 140 technical staff, supporting the wider Faculty of Engineering across two University campuses. Our technical teams work closely with staff and students and engage in a varied portfolio of work across all the University’s engineering disciplines. 

The Role 

You will provide specialist Virtual Reality (VR) knowledge and practical experience to all VR undergraduate teaching activities. Working closely with the academic leads to develop and lead practical teaching activities and taking ownership and management of the new faculty large scale VR facility. In addition, the role will take oversight and co-ordinate maintenance of the faculty’s AV and group working IT facilities. 

This is a permanent, full-time post of 36.25 hours per week. Job share arrangements will be considered. 

Your Experience

  • Proven experience running VR simulations 
  • Experience managing and operating several VR programs and VR facilities 
  • Knowledge of managing and maintaining AV and computer-based equipment and facilities  
  • Experience working in an educational environment
