The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate and graduate levels in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics.

Duties
Conduct research in mathematics, especially algebraic representation theory. Teaching and administration can also be included, no more than 20 percent.
Requirements
PhD degree in mathematics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.
Documented ability to conduct excellent research in mathematics within algebraic representation theory. Of particular interest is research connected to representation theory of Lie algebras, associative algebras, diagram algebras, higher categories together with homological algebra and related subjects.
The ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement, as is a good knowledge of spoken and written English.
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of two years according to central collective agreement. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date 1 November 2023 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
