Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Being an active part of our research group at transregional CRC TRR 152 “TRiPs to Homeostasis”, the Research Training Group “Targets in Toxicology” (both supported by the DFG) and the German Center for Lung Research (DZL).
  • Organization and supervision of practical courses and seminars for students in the Master Program “Human Biology – Principles in Health and Disease” supported by the “Elite Network Bayern”
  • Supervision of Master and PhD students
  • Presentation of research results at national and international congresses
  • Design and performance of experiments for our research activities
  • Actively contribute to scientific literature by developing abstracts and manuscripts.

Your qualifications:

  • Experience in working with genetically modified mice and functional analysis of ion channels (patch clamp recordings, Ca2+ imaging)
  • PhD in the field of life science with interest in translational research
  • Strong background in physiology and pharmacology
  • Solid practical experience in patch clamp recordings, Ca2+ imaging, RNA sequencing and cell biology (organoid models)
  • Knowledge in Bioinformatics, Multiomics/Proteomics
  • Commitment and a self-directed way of working
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

The institute is located in the middle of Munich and the Bavarian lakes and Alps can be easily reached by public transport.
The position is initially limited until October 2026, with a possibility of extension. Salary is determined by prior experience according to the German public sector pay scale TV-L.
