The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1250 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to work within the Estates Department to undertake planned and reactive maintenance across the University’s estate. You will independently carry out assigned works involving all aspects of electrical building services, systems and installations, planning and selecting appropriate materials to comply with current British standards and Health and Safety legislation, completing relevant documentation on electronic and paper systems as required.
Candidates should have demonstrable post qualification experience in electrical installation and maintenance, have a working knowledge of the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and be qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent qualification) You should also hold the City & Guilds 2382, 18th edition qualification (or equivalent) or have the 17th edition and be willing to achieve the 18th edition qualification when starting the role. Due to the frequency with which the post holder will drive between University sites a full, current driving licence is also required.

This is a permanent, full-time (36.25 per week) post, worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged (mainly Monday to Friday) Flexibility will be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
