The Research in Orthopedic Computer Science (ROCS) is an internationally recognized research lab of the University of Zurich and the University Hospital Balgrist. ROCS strives for surgical excellence by developing next-generation of computer-assisted interventions using digital technologies (Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics). To strengthen our scientific team, we are looking for highly motivated and talented postdocs who share our goals.
Your responsibilities
- Scientific lead of PhD students in smaller research projects up to scientific publication
- Scientific coordination in large national and international research projects
- Supervision of PhD and Master students
- Involvement in teaching (optional)
Your profile
- PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or related study
- Scientific track record in computer-assisted interventions (MICCAI, IPCAI, IJCARS or related)
- Hands-on experience with hardware such as optical/electromagnetic tracking systems, KUKA robots, fluoroscopy devices, Microsoft Hololens, RGB-D cameras
- Expertise in deep learning and AI (preferable in the context of computer-assisted surgery)
- Foundations in computer graphics and medical image analysis
- Strong coding skills and experience with research libraries (ITK, VTK, tensorflow, pyTorch, ROS, etc.)
