Assistant/Associate Professor in Nutrition Science

The Position
The Department of Nutrition Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a research and publication agenda, a commitment to university service and public outreach, to work with the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics to reinforce the role of evidence based nutrition guidelines, and to teach. The successful candidate’s research expertise, which can span the spectrum of basic to applied sciences, will complement and strengthen core interests of faculty in the Department.

The Department of Nutrition Science, which maintains a strong research portfolio, is part of the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University. The Department of Nutrition Science houses the campus Clinical Research Center, with a Diet Assessment Center.  The Department has a strong interest in promoting interdisciplinary research and leadership across and beyond the campus. Opportunities include the NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, the Ingestive Behavior Research Center, NCI-designated Purdue Center for Cancer ResearchPurdue Institute of Integrative NeurosciencePurdue Institute for Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious DiseaseWomen’s Global Health InstituteCenter on Aging and the Life Course, and a strong state wide Cooperative Extension Program.

Requirements

Applicants should have completed a PhD in Nutrition Science or closely related field and hold the RDN credential. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience and demonstrate potential for excellence in research and teaching. Applicants at the Associate Professor level should have demonstrated success in research (as evidenced by publication record and extramural funding), in teaching, and in service to the profession. All applicants should show a commitment to contributing to inclusivity.
