Job Summary
As Managing Director, Purdue Engineering Research Centers you will manage large, externally funded Purdue Engineering research centers in an academic environment. You will serve as senior research manager, interacting with industry and government leaders. You will have an opportunity to collaborate and consult with faculty leaders to provide managerial and administrative support for multiple research teams, including proposal development, post-award support, team schedule coordination, and team milestone monitoring. Define and implement strategic directions for research teams, and assist faculty in fiscal planning & budgeting process. Specific Centers to support will be on a rotation basis depending on the needs of the Centers.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in a research-related field
- An equivalent combination of required education and work experience will be considered (for example, a Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience)
- Valid US or Canadian driver’s license
- Ability to work closely with College of Engineering faculty members, staff, and with the campus community (senior administrators, Deans, School Heads, faculty, staff, and students)
- Ability to interact actively with industrial leaders and experts
- Proactive leadership skills, outstanding communications
Preferred:
- PhD
