YOUR TEAM
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group with expertise in neurophysiology, behavioral and computational neuroscience with state-of-the-art facilities in optical and magnetic resonance imaging, microscopy, electronics.
The candidate will support the activities of the Centre’s investigators and contribute to prototyping and development of new tools and methods for research.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Installation, maintenance, repair, calibration and testing of control and measurement instruments and sensor
- Assembly and programming of circuits controlled by microprocessors (e.g. Arduino, Teensy and NiDAQ)
- Use of specialized software for drawing electronic and mechanical diagrams (e.g. Eagle and AutoCAD)
- Reading and interpretation of electronic and mechanical diagrams
- Advice on available technologies and possible solutions
- Estimate of the material and work required to develop the prototype of a new experimental tool
- Acquisition of confocal microscopy images
- Purchase of critical consumables and supplies
- Installation of software and hardware updates in liaison with ICT directorate
- Provide basic support for local computing servers in liaison with ICT directorate
- Development and application of code for large-scale data analyses.
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE
- Secondary education diploma in Electronics, Informatics, and/or Bsc/MSc degree in Engineering Electronics / Biomedical / Telecommunications / Information Technology / Mechanics
- Proficient use of C ++, Matlab and/or Python, and in the use of software such as Eagles and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with microprocessors such as Arduino and Teensy
- Ability to assemble and manage personal computers and servers
- Basic understanding of methods used in computational and data science
- Good command in spoken and written English
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage project within required experimental deadlines
EXTRA AWESOME
- Knowledge of protocols, devices and authentication systems for wireless networks
- Knowledge of HPC systems and parallel computing
- Experience gained in Research Centers or Institutes
- High motivation to learn
- Spirit of innovation and creativity
- Ability to work in an international environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
