YOUR TEAM

You’d be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out the research.

The Computational and Chemical Biology Directorate is coordinated by Prof. Andrea Cavalli, who has extensive experience in development innovative computational tools and algorithms to enhance the discovery of novel and better medicines; design, synthesize, and biologically evaluate novel lead candidates for cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and neglected tropical diseases.

In particular, you will work within the 5000genomi@vda project whose main objective is to perform whole genome sequencing of 5,000 subjects including patients affected by neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative and oncological diseases, transplant recipients, and healthy citizens in close cooperation with the “Umberto Parini” Aosta Regional Hospital and the local health authority (AUSL VdA). You will be instrumental for coordinating patient’s accrual within the different clinical research projects and collecting human biological samples and associated clinical data. You will also act at the interface between clinicians and researchers to strengthen communication and professional relationships.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • day to day running of research studies including screening of potential patients
  • assisting in the informed consent process and management of all the study related data
  • ensure recruitment into trials to meet all project targets
  • collecting, processing and shipping of research samples
  • liaison with laboratory staff over clinical samples
  • complete research documentation, maintaining accurate study records
  • ensure that the planned clinical studies continue to run effectively and efficiently

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

  • A master or bachelor degree qualifying in Nursing Studies or a similar discipline
  • Registration in Italian “’Ordine delle Professioni Infermieristiche”
  • Documented experience in working with patient/clinical trial data; Clinical research
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Familiarity with the main IT software packages, including Word and Excel
  • A cooperative approach with the stakeholders 
  • Accuracy and good analytical skills
