The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Laboratory Medicine Program at the University Health Network (UHN) are seeking to recruit a Hematopathologist. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate is expected to have diagnostic and research training/expertise in Hematopathology and Laboratory Hematology. The expected start date is October 1, 2022, or will be mutually agreed upon.

We are seeking an academic hematopathologist who will foster excellence in clinical practice, research and teaching activities in hematopathology and laboratory hematology at the hospital. The successful candidate must be an experienced academic hematopathologist with established track record and will join a large academic laboratory faculty with diverse diagnostic expertise, teaching responsibilities, basic and clinical research activities. Expertise in lymph node/lymphoma pathology is required. The department has a high volume of interesting and challenging cases and utilizes leading edge technologies, including molecular diagnostics and cancer cytogenetics. Participating in diagnostic service for UHN and its client facilities is also expected. Participation and leadership in collaborative or independent research and publishing scholarly work is expected. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellent and innovative scholarship in teaching and education in undergraduate, post-graduate, fellowship, and continuing education.

The successful applicant must hold a medical degree, certification in Hematological Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent, and be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  This full time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week) offers an annual salary of $232,500 as well as a competitive benefits package.  Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2022, or until the position is filled.  Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.
