Associate Professor level.
Job description
The position is located in the Department of Information and Service Management, which consists of three disciplinary areas: Information Systems Science, Logistics, and Management Science. The department offers bachelor’s and master’s programs in Information and Service Management. There are currently 27 faculty members at the department out of which six are in Management Science Group. The doctoral program in Management Science has 10 doctoral students enrolled. The Department appreciates an active approach to international research collaboration and business co-operation. Both are supported by our current faculty and Aalto’s multidisciplinary collaboration platforms for research and education of the Aalto University.
We look for candidates with multidisciplinary interests whose work complements the research of our faculty. We are especially searching for candidates that can teach and conduct research related to business analytics, statistics, mathematics, and machine learning. Requirements
Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure track system are expected to exercise and guide scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the advances of their field, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to take part in societal interaction and international collaboration in their field.
The applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring graduate students and to developing and maintaining an active program of sponsored research. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a field that is closely related to business analytics and management science (e.g., computer science, mathematics, or statistics). Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in research through international top-level publications and a teaching portfolio that demonstrates teaching merits and competence.
The selected candidate is expected to conduct and supervise research in business analytics, statistics, and management science, to provide university level teaching, to follow and contribute to the advances in the field internationally, to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to take part in societal interaction.

Salary
Salary will be defined according to Aalto University´s payroll system. Salary is internationally competitive, and Aalto University provides health care and retirement benefits.
