Position Description
The Department of Geoscience within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Fall 2022 Term GOPH 547 Sessional Instructor.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for lecture instruction, lab co-ordination, and any other associated duties for this 3-unit course during the Fall 2022 session.
Geophysics 547 – Global and Mineral Exploration Applications of Geophysics
Geophysics 547 is the theory of gravity, magnetic, resistivity, induced polarization, self-potential, and radiometric methods. Gravitational and magnetic fields of Earth. Large scale, low resolution survey applications to global geophysics and mineral exploration.
Fall 2022 Term Dates: August 29 – December 23, 2022
Teaching Schedule: Lectures are TR 11:00-2:15
Labs are M 11:00-13:50
Note: All course components are currently scheduled for in-person delivery.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in Geoscience or a related field is required.
- Experience with the Desire 2 Learn (D2L) course management system, knowledge of best practices for assessments, and techniques for engaging students will be considered assets.
- Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is a strong asset.

Remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Please see the Faculty Association’s website at www.tucfa.ca for further information regarding conditions of employment and remuneration.
