Course description: This course takes students from hypothesis testing to the application of testing means, chi-square tests, regression analysis and analysis of variance in Biology. Students will learn to choose an appropriate statistical test, independently analyze case studies with R software, and write empirical scientific reports. [24L, 12T, 24P]. (0.5 FCE)

Salary (In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement): 

Effective September 1, 2020 – Sessional Lecturer I – $16,979.33 (Y, full course) & $8,489.67 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $17,738.50 (Y, full course) & $8,869.25 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer II – $18,171.15 (Y, full course) & $9,085.58 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer III – $18,603.79 (Y, full course) & $9,301.90 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE). All pay rates are inclusive of vacation pay. 

Qualifications: The candidate must have a graduate degree in Biology or related field. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications, ability, and suitability for the position.

Description of duties: Normal duties associated with teaching a university course, including preparation and delivery of course content, development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams, calculation and submission of grades, contact with students by regular office hours.  Completion of all grades (may include make-up exams).
