MGID40H3 Introduction to International Business Law

Course Description:

This course offers an introduction to key topics in the law governing international trade and business transactions, including the law and conventions governing foreign investment, and the legal structure of doing business internationally, the international sale and transportation of goods, international finance, intellectual property and international dispute settlement.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: completion of L.L.B or J.D. required; demonstrated teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level.

Preferred qualifications (in addition to minimum): several years related progressive, professional experience. Previous experience teaching a related course at UTSC with consistent, strong course evaluations.

Duties:

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Classes will be in-person and run as follows:

Tuesday, September 6, 2022 to Monday December 5, 2022.

Exams:

Thursday, December 8, 2022 to Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Note: All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period (in December) as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Salary: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $8,489.66 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.  Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term $8,869.25 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $9,085.57 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.  Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $9,301.89 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.
