MGTA01H3 Introduction to Business
Course Description:
This course serves as an introduction to the organizations called businesses. The course looks at how businesses are planned, organized and created, and the important role that businesses play within the Canadian economic system.

Qualification:
Minimum qualifications: Completion of a graduate degree related to business or management (e.g. MSc or MBA); Several years previous experience in teaching one or more similar courses at the undergraduate (university) level
Preferred qualifications (in addition to minimum): Ph.D. in a related subject area; Previous experience teaching one or more similar courses at UTSC; Consistent, strong course teaching evaluations.
Duties:
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours, and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

Classes will be in-person and run as follows:
Tuesday, September 6, 2022 to Monday December 5, 2022.
Exams:
Thursday, December 8, 2022 to Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
Note: All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period (in December) as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.
Salary: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $8,489.66 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term $8,869.25 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $9,085.57 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $9,301.89 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.
