Sustainability Science Days Coordinator

Are you an experienced event coordinator with a passion to make the world a better place?

Sustainability Science Days (SSD) is a conference event organised by Aalto University and the University of Helsinki. The SSD conference brings together sustainability scientists from all fields of science across the planet. https://www.helsinki.fi/en/conferences/sustainability-science-days-conference-2022

We are looking for a Coordinator to lead the development and management of this annual conference. Both universities are committed to develop SSD to become a globally recognized transdisciplinary event for sustainability sciences and societal change makers in public and private sectors.  Your task is to coordinate the development work and the event management work among relevant teams at Aalto University and University of Helsinki. Join us in shaping sustainable futures!

This is a fixed-term full-time position until the end of December, 2024.

Your role and goals

  • Responsible coordinator of the development of the SSD concept to increase its positive impact on societies
  • Responsible coordinator of the annual event: communication, network building, partnerships and event management, advertising
  • Find new partnerships and funding, both private and public
  • Develop the academic networks and private sector partner and sponsor networks, together with relevant teams at both universities
  • Project and budget management of the event

Your network and team

You will be a part of Aalto Solutions for Sustainability team and HELSUS coordination team, i.e. you will divide your worktime between HELSUS and Aalto. You will also have the support of the event management, partnership and communication teams from both universities.

Your experience and ambitions

What we expect from you?

  • At least a Master’s degree or a vocational University degree of comparative level
  • Fluent in English
  • Previous experience in multi stakeholder project management and international events

Salary: approximately 3500 – 4000 €/m, depending on your experience.
